I don't know how much I can take of the new dental assistant.
It's not even that I can't understand her mangled English, Mandarin with Cantonese to taste. Really, just sick of people acting like their authority makes them equivalent to a parental figure. I don't need your condescending demands, practically shoving a new tootbrush into my unrinsed, newly scraped up mouth. Angles and directions given in a mirror, and I didn't even have my glasses on. There used to be horrid soft rock from the ceiling, and now all I could hear from the partition was grinding and her warbling over the beeping sterilization oven.
And still, I have three open toothbrushes to go through. Thanks, lady.

So it wasn't much of a surprise. Dad going into drive while we were both reminding him to go in reverse was more unexpected.
The money had to be going somewhere other than stomachs and the accounts we knew about it, but it would have never worked. On top of that half of the people this move involves aren't even being informed about what we're looking at or how it's supposed to effect us.
I can only be optimistic that it won't involve me for the long term. As worried as I am about the what is happening in the next few years, I still have my own future to look forward to. Fingers crossed.

That really pisses me off. It was enough that pro-life has invaded campus every year since my class' first year. Even the University is trying to dodge the issue, albeit four years late and in the typical passive style. Now we can get the same joy of having a headless, bloody fetus splayed on the side of a truck in traffic foisted on us. Twice, in one trip. All for the sake of the "sanctity" of its life. Good on the person who commissioned it for respecting said sanctity.
We get it, medical procedures of this sort don't cause rainbows and spontaneous musical numbers to erupt from uteruses. Unfortunately.
It's someone's personal business, to abort safely of their own volition, not some busybody's offended sense of personal morality. Like most things these days, the key is if you don't agree with it don't participate.
